Exploring the Latest Video Trends You Should Know About

What is going on with live video on Facebook?

As an active user on the platform I’m wondering, is Facebook live video dead? Are there other options for people that still want to use Facebook to post videos?

I think Facebook has always been a little underrated … it’s not the end of FB or lives video. Facebook rolls out new features all the time! Facebook is the 3rd most visited website on the internet following Google and YouTube. With 25.5 billion people visiting Facebook monthly, there is no denying that Facebook isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. So, let’s get back on topic…

Yes, Facebook is changing things (ugh, again?) but videos are still important.

Online video is growing faster than ever. (Source: www.uscreen.tv)

1. All social media sites are moving to video first. Use the layout that matches the platform-less than 30% of viewers are willing to turn their phones for a video.

2. 85% of videos are being viewed without sound so make sure you use captions. (Facebook does provide captions)

3. The video first trend on social media is here to stay (look at TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube)

4. Video generates 1200% more shares than text and images combined

5. The average video view duration has dropped (making videos shorter is necessary for engaging fans/customers)

6. 82% of people prefer video to read a post

This year it’s estimated that the average person is spending 100 minutes per day watching online videos. (Source: www.uscreen.tv)

But what does that mean for live video?

Live video on Facebook will still have their place and still holds importance. One of the greatest benefits of Facebook Live is the fact that you get to interact with your viewers in real time. You’re about as close to face-to-face as you can get without actually meeting them.

You get to connect with your followers on a more personal level than you would be able to through just text and images. Another benefit of live video is that your followers get a notification when you go live.

People like real people-the days of editing and polishing videos are behind us. Going live lets people see the real you. Uncut, genuine, at the moment you.

The greatest thing about live video is you can repurpose it. Chop up your video into 15sec, 30sec, and 3min clips and post to your TikTok, Reels, Stories, and other short-form video platforms. The authenticity of being you is still there, and you can customize it to how you want it!

Facebook says that one-fifth of the videos posted to their platform now come on Facebook Live. Not only that, but users spend 3x longer watching the video when it’s live, compared to pre-recorded or saved video.

While we can have all the stats and tools, the key is still experimentation. Try doing things differently from time to time and check the results to see what is working for you and your audience.

I honestly can’t think of a better way to get leads and cultivate relationships in your business. No Facebook live video is NOT dead.

Why live streaming? Simply put, live streaming is one of the best ways to connect in a meaningful and authentic way with your community. Every day around the world, in offices, fitness studios, stadiums, houses of worship, and our own houses, moments are made. A Livestream platform connects you instantly to your employees, customers, subscribers, or followers. (Source: livestream.com)

So, what do you think of live video? Still, thinking about pulling the trigger and going live?
